I was born and raised in a small village in between the sea and the mountains of northern Norway - a place where everyone knows everyone. I longed for the city and anonymity my whole youth and it was only after I finally left, that I was able to see the beauty of my hometown. As a visual storyteller my practice revolves around how identity, sexuality and belonging are shaped in the outskirts of Northern Norway. In the intersection between documentary and art photography, I use the camera as a tool to get to know the people and places I’ve grown up next to, but never really appreciated.
My projects are research based, and I often work with personal stories to unfold larger themes. As a game of associations, I tend to find my next step as I go. I work mainly with analog photography and a medium format camera to slow down the process and to get closer to my subjects.
I graduated from Bilder Nordic School of Photography in 2021, and I work with long-time personal projects as well as commissions.
