How does governmental censorship affect queer youth living in Budapest? In 2021 the Hungarian government authorized a law forbidding mentions of anything LGBTQ+-related in public spaces and schools. As a part of an ongoing project, I have been working with queer youth in Budapest to understand how they experience and navigate this erasure, and how queer and trans joy is a form of resilience.
