Knitting and crocheting are traditional handcrafts often associated with older women. Over the last few years, the traditional craft has attracted more and more young people, and during the pandemic, interest in the hobby has exploded. I started noticing that the new generation of knitters use the craft as a form of self-expression, not just a hobby. They play with the material and often make pieces without recipes or even a plan, often making whatever could fill a need in their daily life - like a bag for your surf board, a hat with a nose warmer, or simply just making “weird” things for fun.
